What To Do In O'fallon Illinois
What to do in O’Fallon, IL
One of the fastest growing communities around St. Louis with a population of over 28,000, O’Fallon, IL is located close to Scott Air Force Base. Founded in 1854, O’Fallon boasts a well-established history that’s ingrained in the city today. The area has plenty to offer visitors who need a break from the density of St. Louis, as well as quite a few fantastic places to eat!
Since its founding, O’Fallon has increased in population every single year except for one. While the populations in most cities boom, but then plateau or decline altogether, O’Fallon is the exception. In 1930, the city posted a loss of six residents and continued its steady growth the following year. As a result of the boom in the 1980s and 1990s, more than half of the city’s housing is less than 15 years old.
O’Fallon is gaining ground quickly and features many popular attractions that draw in visitors from far and wide. The O’Fallon Veterans’ Monument features 15 pillars in the shape of a star. The largest monument in the area, the names of fallen veterans are added twice a year. A kiosk directory provides a personal history, as well as the pillar location of each veteran’s name also. Furthermore, for a bit of rest and relaxation, stop by Centerfield Park, Inc. for a game of miniature golf with the family!
Once all is said and done, it’s time to grab a bite to eat. Bella Milano offers American and Italian cuisine that offers the best of both cultures. Featuring incredible food and service from start to finish, this Italian restaurant is one of the best in town.
Peel Wood Fired Pizza offers a more laid-back style with pizza backed in a real wood burning oven. Servicing pastas, sandwiches, wings, and more, this restaurant also brews its own beer! Trust us when we say there’s nothing comparable to a wood-fire cooked pizza!
When you're in O’Fallon, don't forget to stop by Jack Schmitt Chevrolet of O'Fallon!
