What is the 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot?

The 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot is exactly what it says: wi-fi for your car. It allows you to connect up to seven devices at 4G speeds, enabling great quality. Essentially, this turns your Chevrolet vehicle into a reliable mobile hub, allowing you to work, stream videos and do other online tasks right from the convenience of your car. It can provide you with a better in-vehicle experience than your smartphone can and since it’s powered by your vehicle, you don’t have to drain another device’s battery life to enable a separate mobile hotspot.

How does it work?

First, turn on your car. Second, search for your car’s Wi-Fi network on your mobile device, select it and enter your password. You are also required to have a data plan provided by AT&T for your vehicle in order to use the hotspot. You have to have this data plan in order to be able to have any internet access in your vehicle, just like you need a data plan to access the internet on your phone.

Once you have your data plan and are connected to the Wi-Fi network, you are free to connect up to seven devices at one to your OnStar® 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot, all at once. You can also stay connected to this hotspot as long as you remain within 50 feet of your Chevy.

Good news! Every new Chevrolet car and truck comes with a built-in OnStar® 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot.
